Throughout our lives we learn. It’s the thing we as humans do best, but is often taken for granted. Despite all the time we spend learning, we don’t focus on improving how we learn and reap all the benefits that learning quicker provides.

  • More free time

  • Positioning yourself for success by being ahead of the curve

  • Helps you get over speed bumps faster

Here’s some techniques you can do to speed up your learning so you get the benefits sooner:

1. Accelerated Learning:

Such as the Feynman Technique or the Pomodoro Technique focus on understanding rather than memorization. They not only speed up the learning process but also enhance retention.

2. Active Learning:

Is a far cry from passive reading or listening. It involves engaging with the material, asking questions, and discussing concepts. By actively participating in the learning process, you can understand and remember concepts more effectively. I used this one in school so that I had to spend less time on homework or studying.

3. Learning to Learn:

Understanding how you learn is critical to improving your learning efficiency. I recommend testing the different ways to see what sticks best with you and double down on it. It will save you time in the long run.

  • Visual

  • Auditory

  • Kinesthetic

  • Reading/Writing.

4. Digital Literacy:

Use new digital tools. I can’t state this enough. We live in a time where massive amounts of information are available for free on the internet. The more you understand the different tools, the faster you can access that information. I honestly pay for some tools that help me access that information quicker, so I don’t need to spend time digging.

5. Continuous Learning:

As with any process, adapt and learn. This applies to your learning style, as you learn more about how you learn, you can adapt your learning habits and process to better fit you. Keeping this in mind will help you get better at learning faster. And the faster you get better at learning, the faster you get better at what you learn.

The more you learn, the faster you grow and become more efficient with your time, thus saving you time. But remember, the goal isn't just to save time, but to make the time you spend learning more productive and enjoyable. So, start enhancing your learning skills today, and watch as you find more free time opening up in your schedule as you achieve more than you thought you would.
